The shaded areas represent the "human comfort zone" in winter (blue) and summer (red). As set up, the chart includes temperature and humidity values recently reported, e.g., in India (43 C, 25% relative humidity) but values that are deadly to humans (wet bulb temperature above ~33 C) still fall far outside the depicted region, off to the top right.
