The above error message appears if you attempt to install version 3.2 (and possibly other versions) of ATI's Remote Wonder driver on a relatively pristine Windows XP machine.
The cause: ATI fails to install MFC71.DLL and MSVCR71.DLL, so unless these DLLs have been installed previously by other applications, the ATI installation will fail.
